A corporate design relaunch that brings traditions back

Craftsmanship and quality are the foundation on which the traditional pastry shop Brommler with its eight stores in Memmingen and Kempten, Allgaeu builds. In addition to the classic bakery and confectionery business, the company also offers frozen cakes and pastries for cafés, bakeries and resellers with their Europe-wide distribution structure. The family business and its employees love their craft, and this should be noticeable in every part of the design.

As part of a complete corporate design relaunch, the logo of past decades has been rediscovered and presented in a new context. The new, valuable and timeless design was consistently implemented in various media: sales-promoting flyers with order forms (also interactive as PDF), eye-catching posters as well as menus and table displays for the shops, the complete business stationery, invitation cards, bakery bags, newspaper advertisements, to name only a few.

The complete range of cakes, pies and pastries had to be set in the spotlight for the product catalogue. Handmade quality and a natural approach are a particularly important characteristic of the Brommler confectionery. Handmade work lives from the not so perfect, it may also show rough edges and corners. This picture style supports the traditional image of the bakery. Especially exciting: The look behind the scenes, which shows people with passion at work—that provides the viewer with a transparent insight into the craftsmanship of the Memminger bakery.

Structure and user guidance, content creation and usability are particularly important in digital design. With the new digital appearance of Brommler—beside these important factors—special emphasis was given to an emotional web design. Customers have to be inspired and feel hungry on the site. For example, those who are interested in the party pretzels will immediately get the opportunity to start an easy way to make an inquiry after seeing a “tasty” picture. Immediately, a Brommler employee contacts the interested customer, talks about the details and the manufacturing process can already begin. This does not necessarily require an elaborate online shop—a small, lean solution is often more effective. Large-scale and perfectly balanced picture series determine the look of the new website of the confectionery Brommler from Memmingen. Modern technology meets traditional craftsmanship.
